Angus Court re-development was part of a long standing relationship
with Fairfield Housing Co-operative and Gaia Architects, and an ongoing
refurbishment programme in the estate which in the process has been transformed
from one of the most crime-ridden spots in Tayside to a finalist for 'Perthshire
in Bloom' with a waiting list for entry in the hundreds.
The project was the sixth phase of the estate re-development
and also the first for which Chris Morgan was solely responsible at Gaia.
The contract was finished 4 weeks early and marginally under budget, despite
the use of natural paints and ecological insulation in the lofts. Treatment
of the lofts was avoided through the use of ventilators, additional insulation
was added to all six flats, high performance double glazing installed,
disability access provided along with extensive landscaping.
